Transbordeur welcomes Yamê

At Transbordeur, we are thrilled to host Yamê for a night that captures the pulse of contemporary French soul, rap, and R&B, all under our vaulted roof in Lyon. The artist’s rapid ascent, fueled by the breakout success of Bécane and a widely shared COLORS performance, has set the stage for a live experience where nuance and energy meet. From the very first notes, his elastic voice and hybrid rhythms naturally inhabit our main hall’s generous acoustics, designed to reveal warmth in the low end while keeping vocals crisp and immediate. The crowd at Transbordeur knows how to listen and how to move, and Yamê’s music invites both: moments of pin-drop intimacy followed by bursts of groove that ripple through the room. We prepare the space to honor this dynamic range—calibrated lighting, immersive sound imaging, and a layout that lets the audience feel close to the artist’s storytelling, whether he leans into a confessional verse or lets the band stretch a chorus into a collective release.

An immersive night at Transbordeur

Expect a set crafted for flow. We are building a stage plot that places keys, bass, drums, and guitar in a dialogue with Yamê’s voice, with lighting cues that respond to his rhythmic phrasing rather than merely framing it. In our room, the irregular swing of his beats can breathe, and the soulful harmonies can bloom without losing the punch that drives bodies forward. Bécane is sure to be a centerpiece—our engineers are preparing a mix that highlights the song’s intimate grain while giving the rhythm section the depth it deserves. Between songs, the artist often reworks transitions, layering voice and keys into brief vignettes that feel spontaneous but land with purpose. From the pit to the balcony, our sightlines keep every gesture readable, and the sound design ensures that subtle timbres—fingers on strings, a breath before a held note—carry to the back of the room. It’s a show conceived to feel both finely detailed and joyfully communal, the kind of concert that turns a weeknight into a memory.

Yamê arrives at Transbordeur in a moment of creative momentum. His recent releases showcase a producer’s ear matched with a singer’s instinct for narrative, threading together influences from jazz chords to hip-hop cadences and West African polyrhythms. Bécane remains an essential calling card because it distills this approach into something instantly singable, but on stage he broadens the palette: unexpected modulations, percussive vocal accents, and rhythmic pockets that allow the band to converse in real time. Beyond the singles, the artist’s live reputation has grown thanks to festival appearances and intimate club dates where the audience becomes part of the arrangement—claps turning into counter-rhythms, refrains that rise from the floor before the first note is played. For our team, welcoming this project to Transbordeur means curating an environment in which that chemistry can thrive. We tune the room for clarity and warmth, coordinate visuals to frame each chapter of the set, and make space for those quiet, luminous seconds when silence is as musical as the beat that follows. When the lights dim and the first chord resonates, the venue and the artist meet halfway—and the night begins.
