Radiant-Bellevue welcomes Wolf by Compagnie Circa

At Radiant-Bellevue, we are thrilled to open our stage to Compagnie Circa with the magnetic creation Wolf, a contemporary circus experience that resonates with the architecture and spirit of our venue in Caluire-et-Cuire. Our hall’s generous sightlines, intimate proximity, and versatile rigging grid allow performers and spectators to share the same breath, making every lift, fall, and suspended moment pulse with immediacy. From our first technical conversations, it was clear that the company’s exacting physical vocabulary—lucid, musical, and fearlessly precise—would find a natural home here. The Radiant-Bellevue team has prepared the space to heighten the show’s choreographic geometry and acoustic textures, aligning our lighting bridges, floor surfaces, and sound system to serve both the performers’ safety and the audience’s immersion. Whether you are a seasoned circus enthusiast or discovering this art form for the first time, Wolf promises an encounter shaped by trust, risk, and the enchanting alchemy of bodies in motion—all experienced with the warmth and clarity that define evenings at Radiant-Bellevue.

An artistic moment in the present tense

Compagnie Circa arrives with an artistic momentum that feels unmistakably of the now. In recent seasons, the ensemble has deepened its research into the dramaturgy of movement and sound—pairing acrobatic phrasing with breath, footfall, and a subtle play of silence—to craft works where the physical and the musical are inseparable. Wolf draws that research into sharp focus: a living score shaped by the idea of the pack, the invitation and refusal of belonging, and the strange tenderness of collective instinct. You will sense a tactile musicality—palms striking skin, bodies brushing floor, a whispered count that travels through the group—and a clean scenographic frame that lets the performers’ daring read with crystalline clarity. Our lighting design at Radiant-Bellevue traces the contours of this world: pools of shadow that compress space into a den; sudden washes that expand it into a clearing. As the show shifts from intimate duos to surging ensembles, the hall’s acoustics give resonance to every landing and breath, turning the stage into a body-sized instrument and the audience into a listening surface.

Presenting Wolf at Radiant-Bellevue also aligns with our season-long commitment to works that bridge virtuosity and vulnerability. The company’s approach—disciplined yet open-hearted—speaks to the kind of evening we love to host: one where the craft is visible, the stakes are felt, and the imagination is given room to wander. Our stage team supports the piece with a floor tuned for grip and glide, responsive overhead points, and a sound image calibrated to keep the visceral thud of contact and the delicate edges of breath in balance. From the first cue, you will notice how seamlessly each transition unfolds, how a single gesture can ripple through the ensemble until the entire stage hums with shared intention. For audiences, this means an experience that is both electrifying and readable: no jargon, no barrier, just the immediacy of human bodies negotiating gravity and trust. We invite you to meet Wolf at Radiant-Bellevue, to sit close to the heart of the action, and to let the company’s bold, lucid artistry leave its mark on your senses and your memory.
