Acte 2 Théâtre welcomes Peggy Faure

At Acte 2 Théâtre in Lyon, we take special pride in inviting artists whose work speaks gently and directly to families, and it is in this spirit that we welcome Peggy Faure with Doudou Loupapapoul. Our stage is built for intimacy, for the soft murmur of discovery, for the curious gaze of toddlers and the shared wonder of their parents and grandparents. Over recent seasons, Peggy Faure has continued to cultivate a singular relationship with very young audiences, touring across France with creations that privilege touch, listening, and the quiet humor of everyday gestures. Her practice is devoted to that fragile, magical moment when the stage becomes a safe place for little ones to explore emotions and let imagination guide them. We have shaped this presentation in line with our family-oriented programming, with care for comfort, calm transitions, and a welcoming atmosphere that helps children arrive at the theater with ease and leave with stars in their eyes.

Doudou Loupapapoul at Acte 2 Théâtre

Doudou Loupapapoul brings a tender, playful universe to our black box, where textures, colors, and melodies unfold at a pace that respects the attention and rhythms of the very young. Rather than relying on spectacle for its own sake, Peggy Faure crafts a sensory landscape: hushed soundscapes, delicate gestures, and everyday objects that become poetry. The title itself hints at a child’s private language—a “doudou” that comforts and a mysterious “Loupapapoul” that calls forth both giggles and the tiniest tingle of adventure. On our stage, the piece forms a cocoon of trust, an invitation to breathe, to listen, and to participate through gaze, laughter, or a small movement of the hand. Our technical team has worked closely to support the show’s subtleties—soft lighting, rounded edges of sound, and seating that encourages proximity without pressure—so children can experience the performance from a place of safety. What emerges is a vocabulary of tenderness and discovery that speaks to both children and their grown-ups, reminding us that early encounters with art are not only first memories, but building blocks of attention, empathy, and joy.

For us at Acte 2 Théâtre, presenting Peggy Faure right now feels like a natural extension of our commitment to thoughtful, human-scale theater. The artist’s current momentum is anchored in the essentials: presence, listening, and a refined understanding of how an audience of little ones perceives the world. In Doudou Loupapapoul, she channels those essentials into a compact, resonant experience, avoiding excess to keep space for imagination and the gentle surprise of play. We see families linger in our foyer after performances, savoring the quiet glow the show leaves behind, and we recognize in those moments the precise reason we open our doors: to allow the city’s youngest spectators the dignity of a world made for them. By hosting this work, our aim is to offer a haven where caregivers and children can share an hour of undistracted attention and discover, together, that theater can be as soft as a whispered lullaby and as alive as a child’s first laugh. Doudou Loupapapoul is a celebration of presence, and we are honored to hold that space with Peggy Faure here at Acte 2 Théâtre.
