Julien Santini – Tournée in Lyon

We are delighted to host Julien Santini for a stop on his Tournée, welcoming one of the most singular comic voices of the moment to our stage in Lyon. Audiences know him for an irresistibly offbeat blend of stand-up, character comedy, and playful musical detours, a style that thrives on surprise and gleeful self-sabotage. In recent months, his name has circulated widely through sketches like “Le Coach de Vie,” “Le Crooner Maladroit,” and “Le Casting,” which fans share endlessly across social platforms. Many discovered his universe via programs that spotlight new francophone comedy—Montreux Comedy, Le Paname Comedy Club—or through conversational shows and podcasts such as Un Bon Moment and FloodCast, where his improvisational instinct and mischievous imagination shine. Bringing that same electric spontaneity to Lyon, he arrives with the confidence of an artist whose following has grown show after show, festival after festival, thanks to a razor-sharp sense of timing and a taste for audacious left turns that keep crowds leaning forward, waiting for the next detour.

What the audience can expect on the night

Julien Santini’s live presence is a balancing act between finely written bits and acrobatic improvisation, and that tension is exactly what makes the Tournée stop in Lyon so compelling. Expect a comedic tightrope that runs from absurdist confession to theatrical bravado, punctuated by musical fragments delivered in his unmistakable, tongue-in-cheek crooner mode. He is at his best when he toys with expectation—suddenly breaking character, staging a mini “spectacle within the spectacle,” or recruiting the audience into a sly game that feels at once intimate and gloriously silly. Our team has shaped the stage and lighting to preserve that intimate feel, so his asides and micro-reactions land with the same potency at the back row as they do in the front. The set lives and breathes; no two performances are identical. One night a riff will spiral into a mock-serious “masterclass,” another it may morph into a flamboyant musical outburst. For Lyon spectators, that means a living, responsive show whose best punchlines bloom from the chemistry in the room.

Artistically, Julien Santini continues to expand the contours of his comic persona, which explains the momentum behind this Tournée. Throughout the season he has been refining new beats, reshaping transitions, and testing fresh premises that sit alongside fan-favorite moments referenced in sketches like “Le Coach de Vie” and “Le Casting.” Offstage, his visibility has grown through recent clips distributed by Montreux Comedy and Le Paname Comedy Club, and through long-form conversations on Un Bon Moment and FloodCast where he explores the craft—how a throwaway line becomes a set-piece, how a musical flourish can detonate a joke, and how absurdity gains heart when it brushes against vulnerability. For our Lyon date, he brings that evolving toolkit to a full-room context: tighter writing, bolder deadpan detours, and a freer use of silence and musical interludes to misdirect, then pounce. It’s a snapshot of an artist in motion—still gleefully unpredictable, yet increasingly precise—inviting the city to witness a tour stop that doubles as a creative checkpoint before the next chapter of the Tournée unfolds across France.
